AOC Aire iPlay monitor features in-built iDevice dock - Gizmag

We’ve seen iPod and iPhone docks in all shapes and sizes, most of which are built around the iDevices’ audio capabilities. This offering - the Aire iPlay (e2343Fi) monitor from AOC - sees the focus shift to the video playback capabilities of Apple’s devices. The 23-inch Full HD monitor is the first to feature a 30-pin dock in the base for seamless playback of audio, video and photo content stored on an iPod or iPhone.

While video content is viewed on the 1080p resolution, 16:9 LED display offering 50,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness and 2 ms response time that offers 37 times the screen real estate of an iDevice, audio is output via the 10 watt stereo SRS Sound speakers built into the base of the unit. There’s also a built in timer to turn the monitor off automatically.

In addition to taking an iPhone or iPod, the e2343Fi monitor also has an audio input for connection of other MP3 players and D-Sub, DVI-D with HDCP and HDMI inputs for connection of a PC or games console. The monitor also boasts compatibility with Screen+ software that allows the display to be divided into four self-contained work areas, while the integrated iMenu software allows the monitor’s OSD to be accessed with a mouse.

The AOC Aire iPlay e2343Fi monitor is 0.5 inches (12.9) mm thick, measures 21.5 x 7.2 x 15.9 inches (54.6 x 18.3 x 40.4 cm), weighs 6.3 lb (2.85 kg) and retails for US$279.99.
