Two Juveniles See Ipod and Basketball Stolen; Police Issue Warning - Patch.com

Two youths told South Orange police that on June 19, at approximately 2:45pm, they left a basketball and a Ipod in the ball field by the Community Pool. When they returned a few minutes later, they discovered both items had been stolen.

The South Orange Police Department and the Neighborhood Watch Association issued a summer warning to residents:

With the warm weather and summer season upon us the South Orange Police Department along with the Neighborhood Watch Association would like to take this moment to remind all family members and especially juveniles to take proactive measures to safeguard their personal property (bicycles, cell phones, Ipods etc.) at all times. This becomes even more pressing during this time of year while children enjoy our pools, ball fields and courts throughout the community during the summer season. Encourage the use of locks, lockers and mindful eyes in safequarding your property at all times. Remember, personal property should never be left unattended. On behalf of the South Orange Police Department and the Neighborhood Watch Association have a safe and enjoyable summer.
