West Police Blotter: Friend steals girl's laptop, iPod and digital camera - Palm Beach Post

THEFT

A man reported that a laptop computer, an iPod and a digital camera were stolen from the residence where his daughter is staying in the 1100 block of Golden Rod Road. One of her friends admitted to stealing the items and selling them. He was arrested and charged with grand theft.

A 17-year-old girl was hanging out at a friend's house in the 12500 block of World Cup Lane when she plugged in her iPhone to charge. A few hours later she found the charger plugged into the wall but with no phone.

BATTERY

After a man had an altercation with a woman's daughter in the 1100 block of Goldenrod Road, the woman asked him to leave. He returned a short time later and threatened the woman with a paint roller and pushed her. The man left, but he was found in the 10600 block of Acme Road and was arrested and charged with aggravated battery.

TRESPASSING

A man entered the deli section of a store in the 2600 block of South State Road 7 and bought a meal. He ate the meal at a table and then walked out without paying. He was trespassed from the store for a year.

VANDALISM

A woman was walking her dog in the 12600 block of White Coral Drive when she saw a pickup truck drive up behind her neighbor's van and someone smashed the back window and fled.

VEHICULAR BURGLARY

An amplifier, three 8-inch speakers and a CD player were stolen from a car parked in the 100 block of State Road 7.

After exercising at a gym in the 100 block of Business Parkway, a woman found the passenger window of her car broken and the purse she had hidden under the seat stolen. While she was canceling her cards, she learned that the thief bought $83 worth of gas at a West Palm Beach gas station.

VANDALISM

Someone knocked down a mailbox in the 300 block of Sandpiper Avenue.

A man who was house-sitting for a friend in the 200 block of La Mancha Street found tire marks on the front lawn.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A man was in the bathroom when he heard a noise coming from the back of his house in the 100 block of Kings Way. When he investigated, he found his hurricane shutters missing.

THEFT

A man ordered a meal - a bowl of soup, fish dip, rib-eye steak and five Long Island ice teas - totaling $73.70 at a restaurant in the 10900 block of Okeechobee Boulevard. When presented with the bill, the man told the waitress he did not have any money and that his wife would bring him the money. When his wife did not show, he was arrested and charged with retail theft.

A man entered a store in the 11900 block of Southern Boulevard, took two bottles of vodka, valued at $40, and left.

During a traffic stop in the 10100 block of Okeechobee Boulevard, a woman was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license. When her vehicle was searched, several credit cards, gift cards, money and a purse were found. She was also charged with theft and dealing in stolen property.

A property manager reported that three air-conditioning units were stolen from a community in the 2000 block of Shoma Drive.

MISDEMEANOR

A man was stopped for speeding in the 1200 block of North State Road 7. His vehicle was searched and an ax was found. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

BUSINESS BURGLARY

A woman arrived at work in the 9900 block of Belvedere Road to find the cashier window broken. A deputy reviewed the surveillance tape and saw a man throwing an object through the window and reaching in to steal $80 worth of lottery tickets.

THEFT

A man in the 13700 block of 57th Place agreed to give his friend two shipping containers. When his friend did not pick them up as agreed, he gave them to someone else. Out of revenge, his friend stole two air tanks from his house.

An ATV was stolen from a residence in the 16700 block of 70th Street North.

Someone stole the fan motor from an air-conditioning unit from a residence in the 13900 block of 23rd Court North.

An air-conditioning compressor, a water pump and a water pressure tank were stolen from a vacant house in the 13300 block of 59th Court North.

A truck driver left a hand-held radio on the back of the truck while he made a delivery at a store in the 14700 block of Southern Boulevard. When he returned to the truck a few minutes later, the radio was gone.

VANDALISM

A woman discovered that someone damaged her gate in the 13500 block of 24th Court North. She checked her surveillance video and saw three people running away from her house. Her son saw their neighbor in the area, but she denied being involved.

ABANDONED VEHICLE

A Mazda was abandoned at the corner of Seminole Pratt and Whitney Road and Temple Boulevard. There was a "for sale" sign and a number on the vehicle. A deputy called the number several times but with no answer. The vehicle was registered to a Miami-Dade County resident.
