A city man faces a long list of charges after police said he robbed a man of an iPod at gun point last week.
Ryan Baldwin, 21, of 12 ½ Mulberry St. Apt. B, Nashua, was arrested June 8, and was formally charged with: armed robbery, a class A felony; reckless conduct, a class B felony; convicted felon in possession of a firearm, a class B felony; carrying a loaded handgun without a license, a class A misdemeanor; changing marks on a firearm, a class A misdemeanor; and possession of a controlled drug, a class A misdemeanor.
At about 5:15 a.m. on June 8, Nashua Police were called for a robbery that had just occurred in the area of Main and Otterson streets. Officers responded to the scene and made contact with the adult male victim, who reported that a man robbed him of an iPod, and that the robber was allegedly armed with a handgun at the time of the robbery, which he used to threaten the victim before fleeing on foot.
Baldwin was identified as a suspect in this incident and was located and arrested a short time later.
Members of the Nashua Police Departmentâs Criminal Investigation Division furthered this investigation and, based on their investigation, Baldwin was charged with the aforementioned crimes.
It is alleged that prior to the iPod robbery, Baldwin fired the handgun into an occupied home on Newbury Street, leading to the reckless conduct charge. No one was injured in that incident, police said.
Baldwin was found to have a quantity of marijuana on him at the time of his arrest, leading to a charge of possession of a controlled drug. Baldwin also was found to have a prior felony conviction and was subsequently charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He was also charged with carrying a loaded handgun without a license, and with changing marks on a firearm, after it was observed that the firearm he was in possession of had an obliterated serial number.
A class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail, exclusive of fines. Baldwin was held at the Nashua Police Department on $100,000 cash or surety bail pending his arraignment at Nashua District Court.
