Apple earlier this year upgraded its popular GarageBand app for the new iPad, introducing a feature called Jam Session, which turns the iPads iPhones and iPod touches into music-making machines. the app allows users on as many as four iPads, iPhones or iPod touches to âplayâ songs together, record and edit them, then share them through iCloud, iTunes, e-mail or SoundCloud. Hereâs how it works: One of the four players acts as the âbandleader,â who then âinvitesâ the other three musicians to join in. Connected by either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, the four play along while a measure-count bar at the top of each screen keeps the beat. Users play either realistic-looking âtouchâ instruments or the âSmartâ feature, which lets you add synthesized sounds of violins, cellos and other instruments.
