CieTrade introduces ciePhoto for iPod, iPhone and iPad - Recycling Today

New app allows users to photograph outbound export containers and document quality issues.

CieTrade’s new ciePhoto app for the iPod, iPhone and iPad is designed to help recyclers save time and money by expediting the imaging and documentation process. ciePhoto replaces a user’s existing digital camera, allowing the user to take photos of outbound export containers or to document quality issues on received loads. The photos are automatically uploaded into the cieTrade database via Wi-Fi connection and attached directly to the appropriate worksheet, eliminating manually managing hundreds of photos, cieTrade says. The company says ciePhoto can also reduce the number of lost photos since the images are uploaded from the device immediately after they are taken.

To use the app, one or more photos are taken for each inbound trailer or outbound shipping container and are saved with a load or container number. Pictures for each load are automatically uploaded to a cieTrade Cloud, where the images are automatically resized and adjusted before being sent to the user’s cieTrade system. Then photos are automatically attached to their corresponding worksheet in cieTrade via matching container or load number. Image attachments on worksheets in cieTrade® can be easily emailed to customers along with booking documentation or to suppliers to handle claims.
