A new report is saying that Apple may introduce its wireless music streaming technology AirPlay in the iPhone 5 launch event scheduled later this month.
âThe new version will require just speakers or a Wi-Fi and an iDevice; the iPhone, iPod or iPad would form its own network to allow a direct connection and music playback,â sources familiar with Appleâs plans told the (UK) Telegraph.
The new âAirPlay Directâ will be an exclusive feature for iPhone 5, possibly the upgrade of AirPlay designed for coming iPhone 5. It seems that this will be available for other iOS devices as well in the form of a Software update.
Apple has showed the iOS 6 few months ago at WWDC in June, but said it would be âcoming this fallâ. Â We can only assume that Apple will launch its new iPhone and make iOS 6 officially available in the same event.
The most significant aspect of this new AirPlay is how it eliminates the need for a Wi-Fi network, which means that iOS devices like iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touchs may soon be able to beam music directly to a speaker system over its own connection.
A newly designed AirPlay Direct earphone is possibly to be launched by Apple as well. Apple is still selling the years old earphone with iPhones and new innovation is highly required in this particular accessory.
