On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in the Ardmore, Merion Station and Wynnewood area.
Seven reports of thefts or burglaries from vehicles in the Ardmore Patch area between April 24 and April 28 were included in the police report. In six of the seven incidents, items were stolen from unlocked vehicles.
Car Burglary
Laptop, iPod stolen: A white Apple laptop, an Apple iPod, miscellaneous textbooks and CDs were stolen from a locked car parked at Old Lancaster Road and Latches Lane in Merion Station overnight from April 27 to 28, police said. The front passengerâs side window had been smashed, and everything that was stolen was contained in a backpack, police said.
Thefts From Unlocked Vehicles
Emergency kit stolen: Three unlocked cars parked on the unit block of Merbrook Lane in Merion Station were gone through overnight from April 26 to April 27, police said. An emergency kit was stolen from one car, and the glove box and consoles in all three cars were ransacked, police said.
Phone, heart monitor stolen: A Motorola RAZR cell phone, a Timex heart monitor and a Samsonite luggage bag were stolen from an unlocked car parked on the 100 block of Idris Road in Merion Station overnight from April 26 to 27, police said. The items were worth about $400 total, police said.
Glasses stolen: Change, an E-ZPass and glasses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Merbrook Lane in Merion Station overnight from April 27 to 28, police said.
iPod stolen: Change and an iPod were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on the 800 block of Beechwood Road in Wynnewood overnight from April 27 to 28, police said. The car had been ransacked, police said.
