Driving Under the Influence

Jonathan M. Lafasto, 29, of Deerfield, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested Saturday, April 28, at Dundee and Waukegan roads, according to police. He was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage. 

Driving Without A License

Ramiro Zavala, 27, of Chicago, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving without a license Saturday, April 28, at Dundee Road and Juniper Lane, police reported.

Driving With a Suspended License

Alejandro Ramirez, 33, of Wheeling, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license Sunday, April 29, at Dundee and Pfingsten roads, according to police.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Avadis A. Sarkissian, 56, of Northbrook, was stopped for a traffic violation at Techny Road and Anets Drive Sunday, April 22, when an officer spotted a cannabis pipe in his car, police reported. He was issued a ticket for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stolen Jewelry on Whirlaway

A resident of the 3400 block of Whirlaway Drive reported that several pieces of jewelry went missing from a master bedroom closet sometime before Tuesday, April 24, according to police. 

Retail Theft: Captain Morgan, Bag of Chips

James N. Ransdell, 23, of Northbrook, was issued a citation for retail theft after he took a bag of chips and a bottle of Captain Morgan rum from the Dominicks on Dundee Road Monday, April 23, according to police.  

Retail Theft at Nordstrom Rack

Tina Marie Miller, 24, of Milwaukee, WI, was arrested and charged with retail theft Thursday, April 26, after she tried to leave Nordstrom Rack without paying for $60 worth of merchandise, police reported.

iPhone, iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle Stolen at GBN

Someone took a $200 iPhone from an unattended backpack in the boy’s locker room at Glenbrook North on Friday, April 13. The same person’s iPod Touch was also stolen on Monday, April 16, police reported.

In a separate incident, someone stole $5 in cash and a silver iPod shuffle worth $50 from a backpack left unsecured at Glenbrook North Friday, April 27, according to police.

GPS Units Stolen From Vehicles

Someone entered a car parked in the 2900 block of White Pine Drive during the night of Monday, April 23, and stole a Garmin GPS and thumb drive, according to police. The total loss was estimated at $155. 

In a separate incident, someone stole a GPS from a Toyota Corolla by entering through the open sunroof while it was parked at the North Suburban YMCA Friday, April 27, police reported. 

Lawnmowers Stolen From the Driveway

Two Honda lawnmowers worth $200 were stolen from a driveway in the 2100 block of Greenview Road Tuesday, April 24, according to police.

iPad Goes Missing at Five Seasons

A man’s iPad went missing from his lcoker while he was working out at Five Seasons Friday, April 28. His iPhone showed that the device was located somewhere in the 1400 block of Voltz Road. Police spoke to several residents in the area, all of whom denied having the iPad. Later that same day, the iPad was found at Five Seasons inside a different locker. 

Vandalism at the Skate Park

Someone wrote on the water fountain at the Techny skate park with a white marker sometime before Tuesday, April 24, according to police.

Damaged Mailboxes on Charlemagne Drive

A resident of the 600 block of Charlemagne drive reported that multiple mailboxes were damaged Friday, April 27.
