There is no doubting the fact that the 2012 Honda City is an elegant car. Described as a radical departure from its predecessor, the new Honda City recently unveiled by The Honda Place (THP) in Lagos, is, really, a redefinition of comfort and luxury.
From a three-door hatch-back in 1981 when the Honda City was first introduced to the trendy and sporty look in its fifth generation, the 2012 Honda City , truly , exudes elegance.
And just as its beautiful interior and exterior features are the signature of the Japanese auto manufacturer, Honda Motors, the new Honda City, which comes as a fuel-efficient 5-speed automatic transmission with a Formula One technology, indeed, expresses a feeling of success, more so with its trendy, intelligent, modern, sporty and ambitious performance.
Coming with a new and elegantly-crated front grille that is apparently fashioned after design cues from the latest Civic, the City 2012 may have been transformed to a rather sophisticated mid-size sedan for the upwardly mobile professionals and business people.
Its new and aggressive front and rear bumper with 10-spoke alloy wheels as well as an all-new tail lights are all in semblance with that of the BMW 3-series, while the headlamps have also been redesigned to feature reflector lens instead of the more expensive projector type.
And unlike its predecessor, the City comes with elegant front fog lamps for enhanced style and better visibility plus electric sunroof on "exclusive" models. Apparently re-writing the sub-compact standards with its class-leading safety performance, high tension energetic look and exceedingly proud interior, the new City comes in two variants, namely the EX and LS models.
In his presentation at the unveiling ceremony, the Director, Sales and Marketing, The Honda Place, Mr. Deepak Daryanani, noted that the steering wheel of the new Honda City is now adjustable for reach and height. Another nice touch, according to Daryanani, is the iPod compatible USB connector.
"The display section of the audio system is hinged, opening to reveal a short USB cable which will accept your iPod cable. There is also a little felt-lined compartment for your iPod. Once installed, you can control your iPod via the car's audio system," Daryanani explained.
He listed other notable features in the new City to include a power steering, power windows, music system, ABS with brake assist, remote fuel lid opener, remote trunk opener, engine immobilizer, xenon head lights, amongst others.
