iPods, Cell Phones, Computers - Blanco County News

Well, I’ve seen it all now. A woman stopped in her tracks, one who had been walking from her vehicle on her way into Super S grocery store, using her cell (or iPod) while walking, completely engrossed in what she was texting (or playing) and oblivious to people walking past her, and the car that wanted to park in the space she was occupying! She was standing in the middle of a parking space and must have forgotten that she was on her way into the store!

Yes, people are so engrossed in their iPods and games on their cell phones that they play all day long, and the agreements people agree to, in order to have a license to use the software on their iPod or cell phone, surely should be illegal.

The agreement I nearly signed even said the company could change their agreement at any time with no warning to me, and it would be my obligation to keep up with them through their website to check if they have changed the original agreement I had agreed to! What?! I did not agree. But it is alarming, knowing that people are agreeing to an agreement specifically stating they have the right to change the agreement, and it’s still binding.

Additionally, I nearly made a purchase of a game for my cell phone via credit card, and the agreement stated (deep within the text of small print, about 5 pages into it) that they would have the right to access my bank account if they wanted to, and I could not object. This was for a 99-cent game! No way. I backed out of that quickly and carefully!

My point? It’s that people are agreeing to broad-spectrum agreements such as these because they want the products so desperately, with the fun and capabilities the iPods and cell phones offer, so they are agreeing to anything and are probably not even reading these agreements! Didn’t I recently hear a politician on TV say, “Just sign it and read it later?!”

We shouldn’t have to give a company our date of birth (why do they need that?), which, if you have it, you can get on a particular website and find out anything about anyone for a fee.

So, the entire world is giving these companies, through companies I won’t name, their identities and the privilege of changing original agreements, including banking account authority, and sooner or later somebody will have all that information, and you won’t be able to back out of that screen.

Is there any wonder how the antichrist will be able to control food, water, and other necessities and resources, when he will already have your permission for it? The agreements can change over the years without giving you notice of the change. Have you kept track of all the agreements you have made with the providers of software that you are currently using on your iPod and cell phone? What about your computer at home? What types of agreements have you signed or agreed to that you need to follow up on? Can you find out? It’s been years, hasn’t it. Don’t remember any more? Believe me, they do. It’s frightening.

But, never fear, it is all working out according to prophecy for those who will be left behind. As for us believers, I believe we will be raptured up with Christ’s heavenly kingdom and won’t endure the fearful end of all end times. But for those who will go through, now is your chance, while you are still breathing on this earth, to receive Jesus the Christ, and His Word never changes, so He won’t change his agreement!

John the Baptist said “7 Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

10 And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.

12 Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?

13 And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.

14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.” Luke 3:7-14

Read all about it in Luke, chapter 3. Super good reading for those who want to know Jesus’ ancestry! We should put as much (or more) time into God’s Word as we do our ipod, cell phone & computers! How about use them to spread God’s Word?
