iPad Mini, iPod Maxi, iPhone 5 Tab-Hybrid – Was Steve Jobs Wrong After All? - World News Resource

iPad Mini, iPod Maxi, iPhone 5 Tab-Hybrid †Rumor has it that the long-awaited iPad Mini release date is to become a reality next month, though the debate continues as to how exactly Apple’s mini-tab will manifest â€" not to mention the moniker it will carry. Will the iPad Mini in fact materialize as an iPod Maxi? Perhaps the iPhone 5 will be a Tabphone similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note?

In any case the details are not important â€" the iPad Mini is almost guaranteed to be a runaway success like no other.

Despite the fact that the late Steve Jobs himself made no bones about casting aspersions on 7-inch tablets in general, the fabled project has once again hit the headlines this week after court reports revealed that Apple never fully dismissed the idea of a smaller iPad. True, it may seem unlikely to some that the views of the most important figure in Apple’s history would be sidestepped in such a way, but what must be considered is the way in which the tablet market has shifted so radically over recent months.

The Amazon Kindle Fire and the already legendary Google Nexus 7 have between them brought about a new era of tablet computing â€" an era that Jobs himself apparently did not see coming. 7

For example, toward the close of 2010 Steve Jobs threw cold water on the 7-inch Android tablet market as a whole by arguing that such slates were too costly, too big to considered mobile, too small for proper use of the touchscreen and offered insufficient app libraries.

At the time, Jobs well and truly hit the nail on the head in every instance â€" Android mini-tabs were almost as expensive as the iPad and offered not nearly the same overall experience. However, times have changed in a big way and the Google Nexus 7 in particular has proved that each and every concern voiced by Jobs no longer holds any water whatsoever.

In turn, there is essentially nothing preventing Apple from launching an iPad Mini with the same value and prowess as the Google Nexus 7, with reports suggesting that tens of millions are practically begging them to do exactly that.
