Apple's iPod nano may soon cease to be the feature-poor stripped-down sibling of other iPod variants, as it might be getting Wi-Fi capabilities soon, an Apple enthusiast site reported.
MacRumors cited an entry on Japanese tech blog Macotakara indicating the next iPod nano may have Wi-Fi capabilities to enable iTunes in the Cloud.
It said the Japanese blog had noted the case may sport a Wi-Fi antenna on the side of the case, and support iTunes Music Cloud.
This will allow Apple to further promote the largest Music Store in the world, MacRumors said.
On the other hand, MacRumors cited "mysterious holes" on the back casing of the iPod Touch, and suggested this may be for near-field communications (NFC) capabilities.
iPad Mini
Meanwhile, MacRumors said Apple's upcoming 7.85-inch iPad will indeed be called "iPad mini."
It cited an Asian source who said the "iPad" logo will be printed on the back of the case, similar to the way "iPod" is printed on the iPod nano and iPod touch. â" TJD, GMA News
