A alleged thief got more than he bargained for when his victim took him for a ride after the suspect stole an Apple iPod, Greater Sudbury Police service said.

Just after midnight on Aug. 24, a man who was inside his parked vehicle near Kathleen Street and Notre Dame was approached by two other men, one of whom jumped in the passenger seat of the vehicle and took the driver's iPod.

The suspect punched the driver in the head when he tried to take back his iPod. Fearing the second male would join in, the driver fled the area with the accused still inside his vehicle.

They drove to the area of Cedar Street and Paris Street before slowing down, where the suspect exited the vehicle and fled the area.

Police were immediately notified and located the accused minutes later. He was arrested and charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, and breach of probation.

Police searched the accused and recovered the victim's iPod. The victim suffered minor injuries to the head and facial area.
