TomTom iPhone and iPod Navigation App Updated - Version 1.11 - autoevolution

TomTom today launched a new version (v1.11) of its Navigation app for iPhone and iPad, with customes that use an older version of the app being able to download it free of charge. Drivers can now simply copy and paste a website address into the TomTom Navigation app. The company brags that you don’t have to type, since the app will automatically generate the destination and take you there.

Another important new feature is the addition of foursquare and after linking this to the TomTom app, users can search and get directions to their foursquare places of choice, while also being able to check in to collect points when they arrive.

We’ll use the official words to explain what foursquare is: *Foursquare is a location-based social networking website for mobile devices, such as smartphones. Users "check in" at venues using a mobile website, text messaging or a device-specific application by selecting from a list of venues the application locates nearby.”

In addition to that, TomTom has also launched a new Hands-Free Car Kit for the iPhone, which uses in-built 2 watt speake to offer high-quality audio.

You can download the TomTom iPhone and iPad v1.11 from the Apple App Store.
