Marrying style and a sense of speed, these hand-made iPhone and iPod docks from Italy might be the perfect centerpiece for your home or garage.
There are a lot of insanely cool iPhone and iPod docks out there, but none have captivated our automobile-loving attention quite like these stunning Formula One inspired pieces by Matteo Panini and Marco Pecorari.
Hailing from the Italian Peninsula, and named iXoost (pronounced âexhaustâ), these decorative docks appear to be the perfect showpiece for gearheads and music lovers alike. Each example is hand-made in Modena, Italy and made from solid blocks of aluminum with every manifold carefully crafted and milled using five-axis machines. Subtle styling cues like high-quality leather and colorful finishes are mated to each manifold, which also act as innovative speakers, pleasing the ears as much as the eyes.
The iXoost come in three different varieties: V8, V10 and V12 models. The V8 and V10 models feature two 28mm tweeters, two 25mm midrange cone drivers, one 100mm subwoofer and one 200mm subwoofer, while the V12 adds an additional tweeter, midrange driver, and a 100mm subwoofer.
Each dock is capable of pumping out 420 watts of power, with either six or nine speakers on hand. We havenât had a chance to listen in person yet, but if the sound manages to match the style, weâre certain to be treated to laps of auditory pleasure.
Of course that high-speed sound wonât come cheap. According to the companyâs website the iXoost will easily set you back somewhere in between â¬5,000 and â¬8,000 (roughly $6,100 to $9.800).Â
